If your dont have Vitamin C in your skincare regime - you should!  Vitamin C boosts skins collagen production to give firmer, plumper skin and helps smooth our fine lines and wrinkles.  It is anti-oxidant - something which fights free radicals (things with damage skin cells!) . I use the paula's Choice C15Super Booster because it is a stabilised vitamin C (some types of Vitamin C are very reactive and break down when exposed to air and light) but this formulation is formulated at the correct PH for the skin and is also packed with Vitamin E, ferulic acid (antioxidant) and skin smoothing peptides.

I am careful NOT to use Vitamin C with any of my AHA's, BHA's or glycolics as these products need a different PH to work at their full potential on your skin so I choose to use Vitamin C in the morning and glycolics and AHA/BHA at night.

Exfoliating your skin is essential - there is no point going to all the trouble of applying fabulous serums and masks if your skin is not exfoliated = free of dead skin and debris.  That's what Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos does.  It is a daily (or in my case, every other day) exfoliant which prepares your skin for all the other goodies you are about to load it up with, while also making your skin look smoother and more radiant!  It is a glycolic (chemical) exfoliant that works by dissolving the dead skin that is held on the surface. 

The reason I use it every second day is because I also use a prescription Vitamin A cream on the alternate day.  Using both of these particular products ont eh same day is not recommended because the products are strong and may cause skin irritation.

The Ordinary "Buffet" nourishes your skin like a smorgassboard fills up your tummy!  It is a water based serum (waterbased solutions and suspensions are always applied to your skin first - before heavier oil based products and creams as they cannot penetrate these products and deliver active ingredients) developed to target multiple signs of ageing.  It is a powerful cocktail of peptides, hyaluronic acid and amino acids.  The combination of 6 peptide complexes helps diminish fine lines and dynamic facial folds whilst the hyaluronic acid plumps and hydrates the skin for a firmer look and feel.  A blend of amino acids helps to stimulate collagen production for a hydrated and younger looking complexion.  Mixed with Drunk Elephant B-Hydra (I'll tell you about this tomorrow morning!) its "yummy" for your skin!

I never used to be a big fan of toners - thinking if my skin was freshly washed and clean I could just proceed to the next step without using one.  How wrong I was!  A toner not only removes any traces of cleanser or debris ont he skin but also moisturises and hydrates the skin ready for the next step.  It has become and essential part of my daily routine and this product - #biodermahydrabiotonique is, in my eyes, "liquid gold" for my skin.  it is moisture generating and perfect for sensitive skin.  I LOVE it!!

#drunkelephant is one of my favourite skincare brands.  Most importantly it is a cruelty-free brand meaning they dont test finished products or ingredients on animals, nor do their suppliers test on animals and they dont engage in third party testing.  They are committed to using onluy ingredients that directly benefit the skin health and there are definitely no "suspicious 6" in their products.  T.L.C. sukari Baby Facial is a professional quality AHA/BHA product that resurfaces the skin to remove old skin cells.  It is a mic of glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric and salycilic acids.  Whenever I am away travelling in the US and have the opportunity to purchase this product I do - because it is not available in Australia :( . If you can get your hands on a good quality liquid exfoliant (you could try the #paulaschoice cult favourite 2%BHA Liquid exfoliant to start with but it wont be as strong as the Drunk Elephant) that may start you off.
Exfoliating your skin is essential - at least weekly.  It removes deadlayers of skin to allow your products to penetrate more deeply and makes your skin look more radiant and youthful.  It also helps to reduce the depth of finelines  because dead layers of skin are removed.

Not many of us are born with perfect skin.  Most of us need to work at it! Let me show you my routine.  I'll explain the different products I have chosen for me and why I use them.
I should start by saying I have normal to dry skin and my concerns are anti-ageing and keeping my skin well hydrated.
Firstly I cleanse - TWICE. Its just like washing your hair -the first time you cleanse you are removing makeup, dust, debris and any product from the night before.  The second time you cleanse you are cleaning your skin.  At the end of the day, its REALLY important to use a first cleanser that is a makeup remover (read the back of the label to see if it is going to dissolve oils and remove makeup.  I am a fan of either of these #Olay cleansers.  They dont dry and strip my skin yet gently clean it.  My second cleanser after this step is Cetaphil.  I love #Cetaphil because it is ph balanced, very gentle and leaves my skin clean and ready for the next step - toner.
