My Skincare Routine over 7 Days - Morning and Evening - Sunday Evening

Sunday Night

#drunkelephant is one of my favourite skincare brands.  Most importantly it is a cruelty-free brand meaning they dont test finished products or ingredients on animals, nor do their suppliers test on animals and they dont engage in third party testing.  They are committed to using onluy ingredients that directly benefit the skin health and there are definitely no "suspicious 6" in their products.  T.L.C. sukari Baby Facial is a professional quality AHA/BHA product that resurfaces the skin to remove old skin cells.  It is a mic of glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric and salycilic acids.  Whenever I am away travelling in the US and have the opportunity to purchase this product I do - because it is not available in Australia :( . If you can get your hands on a good quality liquid exfoliant (you could try the #paulaschoice cult favourite 2%BHA Liquid exfoliant to start with but it wont be as strong as the Drunk Elephant) that may start you off.
Exfoliating your skin is essential - at least weekly.  It removes deadlayers of skin to allow your products to penetrate more deeply and makes your skin look more radiant and youthful.  It also helps to reduce the depth of finelines  because dead layers of skin are removed.

My evening routine laid out for you:

My Skincare Routine over 7 Days - Morning and Evening - Sunday morning

Sunday Morning

Not many of us are born with perfect skin.  Most of us need to work at it! Let me show you my routine.  I'll explain the different products I have chosen for me and why I use them.
I should start by saying I have normal to dry skin and my concerns are anti-ageing and keeping my skin well hydrated.
Firstly I cleanse - TWICE. Its just like washing your hair -the first time you cleanse you are removing makeup, dust, debris and any product from the night before.  The second time you cleanse you are cleaning your skin.  At the end of the day, its REALLY important to use a first cleanser that is a makeup remover (read the back of the label to see if it is going to dissolve oils and remove makeup.  I am a fan of either of these #Olay cleansers.  They dont dry and strip my skin yet gently clean it.  My second cleanser after this step is Cetaphil.  I love #Cetaphil because it is ph balanced, very gentle and leaves my skin clean and ready for the next step - toner.

Mecca Cosmetica "To Save Face SPF50+"

Mecca Cosmetica Luxe Hydrating Day Cream

This is a "repurchase product" for me whenever I run out -  my "go to" daily moisturiser.  I LOVE this product, mainly because it is SPF50+ and is a multi benefit product.  The number 1 concern for me is continuing to reduce the visible signs of ageing and the number 1 way of doing that is to reduce sun exposure on my face, which this Luxe Hydrating Cream does for me.

For everyday wear, it sits perfectly under makeup, offers the ultimate protection against UVA, UVB and Free radicals with its potent superstar antioxidants Pycnogenol and Vitamin E and has heavy hitting hydrators to boost moisture levels in the skin.

At rrp $40 From Mecca Cosmetica you cant go wrong as an economical daily moisturiser, sunscreen, undermakeup routine product.

It has a very soft (but I must admit super sheer colour/finish) that you "could" just use a light MAC Mineralise Skin Finish powder over the top for weekend wear and that could be your base, done!

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

I had high expectations for Makeup GeekEyeshadows; they are plastered across YouTube, Instagram and my favourite beauty blogs, so last week I made a purchase on Beauty Bay and decided to try a few shades for myself.

And let me just say, they did not let me down.

The quality of these eyeshadows is highly comparable to my higher end eyeshadows: Nars, Mac and Urban Decay. The good news is: they are a fraction of the price! These shades retail for AUD $10.00 on Beautybay.com.

These eyeshadows are ridiculously buttery, highly pigmented and blend effortlessly. Each eyeshadow pan is magnetic, so I recommend purchasing a Z-Palette so that you can customise your own palette. I also purchase these palettes off Beauty Bay as there is a wide variety to choose from.

(From top right: roulette, cocobear, tiki hut, chickadee, frappe)

And swatched in the order below:

Coco Bear:

Finish: matte

Colour: medium-dark reddish, brown. I love using this colour to deepen up the crease and lower lash line when I am creating a more dramatic look.

Tiki Hut:

Finish: matte
Colour: medium, warm-toned brown. This colour is perfect for when I am in a rush as I like to blend it all over my lid and into my crease-it looks like I spent a lot more time on my eyeshadow than I did!

Chickadee:

Finish: matte

Colour: orange with yellow undertones. This shade is such a gorgeous and unique transition colour for the crease. It’s a definite must in my collection.

Frappe:

Finish: matte
Colour: medium toned coffee-brown. This is another stunning transition shade that I love to use on my clients. This shade looks amazing paired with a gold eyeshadow on the lid such as MAC ‘Amber Lights.’

Roulette:

Finish: shimmery
Colour: reddish, rose gold. This is probably my favourite Makeup Geek eyeshadow that I own. I love using it on my clients with blue eyes as it makes them pop and look INCREDIBLE (And that’s an understatement!). I use this colour on the lid only and make sure to use matte shades in the crease and brow bone, so all the focus is on this gorgeous colour!

I hope this review was helpful and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on these eyeshadows!
